Who We Are
Prorated Rent Calculator (proratedrentcalculator.us) is a free website that helps you find your rent when you stay for only part of a month. If you move in on the 18th or move out on the 12th, you should pay for those days only. Our tools do that math for you in a few seconds.
Why We Built This Website
Prorated rent sounds hard, but it is just rent shared out by the day. Still, many people get stuck. Is the daily rent based on 30 days or the real days in the month? Does the move-in day count? What happens to the deposit?
Most tools we found gave one number and no reason behind it. We wanted a tool that shows how the number is made, so you can trust it and talk about it with your landlord or roommates.
What You Can Do Here
The calculator on our home page has four tools:

Under every result you can download a PDF or an image and share it. The file looks like the result on the page. It does not show your input boxes.
How the Numbers Are Worked Out
We keep the math simple and we show it to you. The main formula is:
Prorated Rent = (Monthly Rent ÷ Days in the Month) × Days You Stay
You can also choose a 30-day month or a 365-day year if your lease uses one of those. Every result has a table that shows each month, the days counted and the amount, so you can check it yourself.
